About the composer

Lindsey Jacob is a composer and saxophonist whose musical output is an eclectic blend of elements from many traditions. Lindsey's music has been presented at numerous festivals and conferences, including the North Carolina Music Educators Association Conference, SEAMUS National Conference, Cincinnati Fringe Festival, Music11 Festival in Switzerland, soundSCAPE Festival in Italy, and the Louisiana State University Festival of Contemporary Music

In 2014, Lindsey was a resident artist at Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts, and her flute duo work Clinkers was the winner of the 2013 In Sterio Composition Competition. Ensembles, such as the University of North Carolina at Pembroke Percussion Ensemble, the William and Mary Symphony Orchestra, and the Xavier University Symphonic Wind Ensemble have commissioned Lindsey to write new works.

Former composition teachers include Stephen David Beck, Dinos Constantinides, Michael Fiday, Mara Helmuth, David Schneider, and John Steffa, and she has received private composition instruction from Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon, Claude Baker, and Libby Larsen. She earned degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Louisiana State University, and Murray State University. Lindsey is currently a Music Instructor at Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, NC, where she teaches music theory, music fundamentals, composition, and applied saxophone.
