About the Artists
Molly Hines has performed in ensembles
throughout North Carolina and Texas: as first and second violinist with the
Abilene Philharmonic, Greensboro Symphony, Fayetteville Symphony, Wilmington
Symphony, North State Chamber Orchestra, Waco Symphony and Temple (TX)
Symphony, as well as the University of North Texas Symphony Orchestra, Baylor
Symphony Orchestra and the UNC-Greensboro Symphony Orchestra. She is the
recipient of the College of Music Award and Teaching Fellowship at UNT, the
School of Music Dean’s Scholarship and full graduate assistantship at Baylor
University, the Elizabeth Cowling Music Scholarship, the Thursday Morning Music
Club Scholarship and was chosen as the winner of the Richard Deas Concerto
Competition. She performed as the second violinist in the Ursino String Quartet
and won the chamber division of the Semper Pro Musica Competition at Baylor
with the quartet, which performed at Weill Hall in Carnegie Hall in May of
2017. In addition to orchestral and chamber playing, Hines is an active solo
performer and collaborates with her mother, concert pianist Domonique Launey.
Most recently, Molly and Domonique performed a concert in Lexington, Kentucky
at Transylvania University in 2018. Hines is pursuing her DMA in Violin
Performance at UNT. She received her master’s in Violin Performance at Baylor
Universityl and her Bachelors degree in Violin Performance at the University of
North Carolina at Greensboro.
Domonique Launey has performed throughout the United States,
Europe and Jamaica as soloist, chamber musician, and collaborator. As featured
soloist, she has performed with orchestras including the Wilmington Symphony,
Houston Chamber, San Antonio, Oklahoma, Tulare, Shreveport, L’Orchestra de Chapelle
Minimes (Brussels), Tallis Chamber, and the University of Texas, performing
concerti of Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven, Mozart and J.S. Bach. In
2014, she collaborated with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, performing
Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in D Minor. She studied extensively with
David Renner, Nancy Garrett and Anton Nel at the University of Texas, Austin
where she received her B.M. and M.M. degrees in Piano Performance. Awards
include first place in the Wideman International Piano Competition and the
University of Texas Concerto competition; she also performed in the Van Cliburn
Competition. As a Rotary International Scholar, she worked with Nadine
Deletaille in Brussels, and was presented with the Gold Medallion for her solo
performance following a year performing extensively as a soloist..

$6 general public, free to students with valid UNCW ID.
Advance tickets may be purchased online or by calling the box office at 910-962-3500 (M-F) Any remaining tickets will be available one hour prior to performance at the Cultural Arts Box Office.
Don't forget! The box office closes 15 minutes after the start of a Department of Music event.

DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC CONCERT GUIDELINES FOR UNCW STUDENTS
Arrive on time
• Arrive at the concert venue at least 10 minutes before the posted concert time. If you need to get a ticket at the box office, have your UNCW student ID ready and arrive at least another 5 sooner.
• The box office will only be open for ticket sales and distribution to students up until 15 minutes after the performance begins.
• Students arriving 5 minutes after the start time of the event will not be admitted free with their UNCW ID card, and must purchase tickets in order to be admitted. If the box office has closed, students will not be admitted into the venue.
Concert attendance and program stamping
Programs for students registered in Department of Music classes are stamped by the ushers at the end of the performance.
• If you leave before the concert ends, your program will not be stamped.
• If ushers should run out of programs, ask them to stamp your ticket stub at the end of the concert. Let your teacher know what happened.
Use of electronic devices during performances
• use of computers, tablets, phones is not allowed during performances. Anyone using an electronic device will be asked to put it away. Noncompliance may result in being asked to leave the event.
