Opera Wilmington presents their first
winter production, the seasonal family favorite Amahl and the
Night Visitors, fully staged and with the Opera Wilmington
Orchestra.
This written-for-television work (tailor-made for the
post-Christmas season) tells the story of a chance encounter when the three wise
men stop at a peasant’s dwelling on their way to find the baby Jesus. Music,
mischief and miracles ensue. At 50 minutes and sung in English, this lighthearted, moving short opera is
perfect for families.
