About the ensembles
Conducted by John P. LaCognata,Symphonic Band is an outstanding ensemble of highly talented woodwind, brass and percussion players including music majors, minors, and non-music students. The ensemble performs the finest literature available for winds, including traditional wind band repertoire, marches, transcriptions, and the newest 21st century works. Symphonic Band typically performs two concerts each semester, and regularly features guest soloists and guest conductors. Enrollment is open to all UNCW students with previous instrumental experience and the necessary skills to perform on a wind or percussion instrument.

Wind Ensemble is UNCW’s premiere wind band, comprised of the university’s finest woodwind, brass, and percussion players. Concert repertoire consists of the highest quality music written or transcribed for wind instruments, representing all periods of music history. Wind Ensemble typically performs two concerts each semester, and regularly features guest soloists and guest conductors. Membership is by audition and is open to all university students regardless of major.

Tickets
$6 general public, free to students with valid UNCW ID.

Advance tickets may be purchased online or by calling the box office at 910-962-3500 Monday-Friday 12 - 6 p.m.

Any remaining tickets will be available one hour prior to performance at the Kenan Auditorium Box Office.

UNCW students may obtain tickets in advance by going to the Kenan Auditorium Monday-Friday 12 - 6 p.m.
