ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tanya Hanano is a junior at UNCW pursuing a B.A. in Music, where she is recipient of the Henriksen Scholarship in Music.  As a member of the UNCW Opera Outreach Project (WOOP!), she has performed in operatic scenes as Queen of Fairies in Iolanthe, Baba in Menotti’s The Medium, and most recently, created the role of Auntie Malka in Meira Warshauer’s new children’s opera Elijah’s Violin.  Hanano is also a member of the UNCW Chamber Choir, recently appearing as the alto soloist in Brahms’s Zigeunerlieder, and travelling to St. Pölten, Austria this past February for the Laudate Dominum Music Conference, where she performed as alto soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria, under the baton of Erwin Ortner.  She has appeared for four consecutive seasons as an ensemble member of Opera Wilmington’s productions of Die Fledermaus, Carmen, Così fan tutte, and Rigoletto.  Hanano works at New Hanover Regional Medical Center as an acute care physical therapist, and is the alto section leader at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Presented in partial fulfillment for the Bachelor of Arts in Music.

DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC CONCERT GUIDELINES FOR UNCW STUDENTS

Arrive on time

•   Arrive at the concert venue at least 10 minutes before the posted concert time. If you need to get a ticket at the box office, have your UNCW student ID ready and arrive at least another 5 sooner.


Concert attendance and program stamping

Programs for students registered in Department of Music classes are stamped by the ushers at the end of the performance. 

   •   If you leave before the concert ends, your program will not be stamped.

   •   If ushers should run out of programs, ask them to stamp your ticket stub at the end of the concert. Let your teacher know what happened. 

 

Use of electronic devices during performances

   •   use of computers, tablets, phones is not allowed during performances. Anyone using an electronic device will be asked to put it away. Noncompliance may result in being asked to leave the event.
