UNCW OctubaFest Ensemble is comprised of community and college euphonium and tuba players from throughout the Cape Fear region.  Selections include marches, polkas, and other seasonal Oktoberfest music. Directed by Daniel Johnson, OctubaFest is a fun, family event - perfect for all ages.

Guest artist/clinician
Justin Worley, originally from Atlanta, GA, is currently pursuing a D.M.A. in tuba performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he is the assistant for the tuba studio and teaches an undergraduate course in electronic music. He is also a member of the newly formed North Carolina Brass Band and can be heard on their recent CD First in Flight. 
    Worley received a B.M. from Columbus State University (GA) and a M.M. from Boston University. Worley was a semi-finalist for the 2013 Leonard Falcone International Tuba-Euphonium Competition and was invited to perform in the live round of the 2013 Lieksa Brass Week Competition in Lieksa, Finland. Recently, he performed as a soloist on Strauss' Concerto No. 1 with the UNCG Symphony Orchestra.20282028 Worley has also performed as a member of the Columbus State University Wind Ensemble on the CDs Visions and Synergy, as well as performing with the Columbus State Trombone Choir at the Eastern Trombone Workshop. While at Boston University, Worley was the assistant Conductor of the All-Campus Concert Band, performing with the ensemble as a conductor as well as a soloist on Robert W. Smith’s Teutonic Tales. He has also performed as a substitute tubist fir the Alabama Symphony, the LaGrange Symphony (GA), the Boston Civic Symphony, and the Wellesley Symphony (MA).
