Karl Metzger, piano, presents his senior recital.
Program includes works by
Scarlatti,
Schubert, Brahms, Prokofiev, and Liszt
Karl
Metzger is a senior at UNCW, pursuing a B.M. in Piano Performance as a student
of Dr. Barry Salwen. At the age of seven, Karl began studying with his mother,
later studying with Dr. John Reitz of Kenyon College in Ohio. Since then, he
has studied under Dr. Jackson Leung of Wright State University in Ohio and Dr.
Bettsy Curtis of Wilmington. During his time at UNCW, Karl has participated in
numerous ensembles and extracurricular events. In 2012, Karl won first prize in
the Southeastern Piano Competition of Whiteville, NC, and has performed in the
masterclasses of Dr. Reid Alexander and Dr. Paolo Gualdi.
Presented in partial fulfillment for the Bachelors of Music degree in Piano Performance.
Mr. Metzger is a student of Dr. Barry Salwen.
