ABOUT THE ARTIST
Renee Hapeman is a senior graduating with a B.A. in Music Performance and a B.A. in Theater Performance. While in school, Renee was a member of the UNCW Chamber and Concert Choir for five years, appearing as the soprano soloist for their performance of Mozart’s Missa Brevis in D. As a member of UNCW's Opera Outreach Program, Renee performed as Monica from The Medium, a demon/chorus in the premiere of the opera Elijah’s Violin, and was working as one of the witches in Dido and Aeneas. She was also a member of the chorus for Opera Wilmington’s productions of Carmen and Die Fledermaus. In 2018, Renee traveled to St. Polten, Austria to participate in the Laudate Dominum conference under the baton of Edwin Ortner. Renee has appeared in seven of the UNCW Department of Theater’s Mainstage shows including Burial at Thebes (chorus); Billy Witch (Sue); Marian, or the True Tale of Robin Hood (Lucy/guard); Six Characters in Search of an Author (Stepdaughter); Diana of Dobson’s (Kitty); Darkness: The Enemy Inside (Squirrel); and Comedy of Errors (Luciana). Renee was also a member of the 2019 Make Trouble acting ensemble performing as Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and an ensemble member in Timon of Athens. Currently, Renee works as a cantor at St. Therese Catholic Church and a tour guide for Ghost Walk of Old Wilmington.
Presented in partial fulfillment for the Bachelor of Arts in Music.
