Local educator and choir director Christa Faison presents an a cappella arrangement of gospel songs and Negro spirituals inspired by the tour’s and repertoire of the Fisk Jubilee Singers in the late 1800’s. Each piece will be introduced with its historical back story and origin. This program is intended to allow the audience to look back on the musical history associated with the enslavement of African people in the American south and its impact on our culture today.
