About the Artist
Helmut Jasbar, Austrian guitarist and composer, has toured
the United States, Canada, South Africa, Asia and Europe regularly, performing
at both jazz and classical music festivals. His concerts have been broadcast on
television and radio in the United States, Canada, South Africa, Italy and
Austria. His works have been published by Ama, Bosworth, (Cologne/London),
Edition Margaux (Berlin), and Helbling Verlag (Innsbruck), among others, and
have been performed by musicians such as the guitarist David Russell and Roland
Dyens.
Along with
composing, recording, and performing, and writing for the stage, Jasbar hosts
the regular radio talkshow Klassiktreffpunkt for 200,000 listeners on raio oe
1, the main public radio station in Austria. He founded both the “Pasticcio
Preis” (CD prize) and the Vienna Guitar Festival which, as artistic director,
coordinated for the Radiokulturhaus, Vienna.
