Don’t miss the screening of ‘Shored Up’ – a documentary on coastal development in North Carolina and New Jersey following Hurricane Sandy. The N.C. Coastal Federation’s Tracy Skrabal is featured in the film.
After the screening, a panel of experts will interact with the audience. The panel includes the filmmaker Ben Kalina, Coastal Geologist Stan Riggs, and Harry Simmons, the Mayor of Caswell Beach and president of the NC Beach, Inlet and Byways Commission.
The event begins at 7 p.m. and is FREE and open to the public! Tickets are required for seating and will be available at Lumina Theater one hour prior to the event. For more information or with questions, contact Coastal Advocate Mike Giles at mikeg@nccoast.org. For more information on ‘Shored Up’ and Kalina, visit www.shoredupmovie.com.
Presented by the federation and hosted by UNCW’s Department of Environmental Studies, Department of Communication Studies, and Cornerstone Learning Communities.
