Steven Errante conducts "Banquet of Baroque," serving up music of Baroque masters Handel and Bach with a
side order of selections from Italian and French composers.
This Masterworks concert will feature Bach's Brandenburg
Concerto No. 6. Bach's sonic imagination was seemingly limitless, and for this
final concerto he chose to limit the work's instrumentation to strings and
continuo, meaning that the only non-bowed instrument heard is the harpsichord.
Other selections in this concert include Handel's Concerto
a Due Cori no. 1 in B-flat and Entrée from Les Boréades by composer
Jean-Philippe Rameau.
